Privacy Policy

1. The short version

• We collect what we need to read your chart and run your daily practice: your account details, your birth date, time, and place, and what you share in check-ins and with Saathi.
• Your birth details are sent to an astrology calculation service to compute your chart. Your conversations with Saathi are processed by an AI provider (OpenAI) to generate replies.
• We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.
• Payments are handled by Stripe, Apple, or Google. We never see or store your full card number.
• If you connect Apple Health or Google Fit, we read step data only to track your challenges. We never use it for advertising.
• You can delete your account at any time under Manage account, or ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your data by emailing support@sangatha.io.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Account details: your name, email address, password (stored securely, never in plain text), username, and, if you add them, a profile photo and gender.
• Birth details: your date, time, and place of birth. These are needed to calculate your Vedic chart. Birth time is optional.
• Check-ins and conversations: how you feel, the focus area you choose, reflections you write, and your messages to Saathi, our AI companion.
• Practice and challenge activity: the practices and challenges you join and the progress you log, such as minutes, steps, distance, or calories.
• Health and fitness data: if you connect Apple Health or Google Fit and give permission, we read your step counts and related activity data so step challenges can track your progress. See “Apple Health and Google Fit” below.
• Community content: posts, comments, and messages you share with other members.
• Location: if you allow it, your device location for location-based challenges and community features. When you search for your place of birth, the search text is used to find the place.
• Purchases, bookings, and applications: your plan, purchase history, reading bookings (including the details you enter in the booking form), and any program application you send us.
• Messages to us: support requests, contact forms, and newsletter sign-ups.

Information collected automatically

• Device and usage data: IP address, approximate location derived from it, device and browser type, pages and screens viewed, and actions such as button clicks.
• Cookies and similar technologies: we use Google Analytics on our website to understand how people use it, and essential storage to keep you signed in.
• Diagnostics: crash and error reports, so we can fix problems.
• Notifications: a device token, if you allow push notifications.

Information from others

• Sign-in providers: if you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive basic profile information such as your name, email address, and profile photo.
• App stores and payment providers: confirmation of your subscription or purchase status.

3. Sensitive information

Some information you share may be considered sensitive in certain places, such as your date of birth, your location, health and fitness data from Apple Health or Google Fit, and how you feel in check-ins. We use it only to provide the features you ask for, such as your chart, your practice, and Saathi's replies. We do not use it to infer characteristics about you for any other purpose, and we do not sell or share it for advertising. You can delete it at any time.

4. How we use your information

• To calculate your chart and show your insight and practices.
• To run Saathi, check-ins, challenges, and community features.
• To process purchases, subscriptions, bookings, and applications.
• To send you service messages, such as receipts, booking confirmations, and verification codes, and, if you opt in, updates and newsletters.
• To keep Sangatha safe, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms.
• To understand and improve Sangatha, mostly through aggregated analytics.
• To comply with the law.

5. Saathi and AI

Saathi is an AI companion, not a person. To reply to you, Saathi sends your messages, recent check-ins, and relevant chart details to our AI provider, OpenAI, which processes them on our behalf under its business terms.

Your chart positions come from standard sidereal calculation, not from AI. AI helps explain results in plain language. Please do not share information with Saathi that you would not want processed this way, such as passwords or financial account numbers.

6. Apple Health and Google Fit

Connecting Apple Health or Google Fit is optional. If you do, we read only the data types you approve, such as step counts and related activity, and we use them only to track and show your challenge progress.

• We never use health or fitness data for advertising, marketing, or building profiles for any other purpose, and we never sell it.
• We do not share it with third parties, except service providers that store it for us to run Sangatha, or if you ask us to.
• You can turn off access at any time in the Apple Health app or in your Google account settings. Data we already received is deleted when you delete your account.

7. Who we share information with

We share information only with service providers that help us run Sangatha, under contracts that limit how they can use it:

• Cloud hosting and storage (including Amazon Web Services): to host our servers, data, photos, and emails.
• Astrology calculation (FreeAstrologyAPI): receives your birth date, time, and place coordinates to compute planetary positions.
• AI (OpenAI): processes Saathi conversations and check-ins, as described above.
• Payments (Stripe, Apple, Google): process purchases and subscriptions.
• Bookings (Calendly): schedules live readings and collects the details you enter when booking.
• Analytics (Google Analytics): measures website usage.
• Messaging (Twilio, Amazon SES, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Google Workspace): sends verification codes, emails, and notifications, and stores contact and newsletter requests.
• Maps (OpenStreetMap): looks up places when you search for your place of birth.
• Error monitoring (Sentry): helps us find and fix bugs.
• Sign-in (Google, Facebook): if you choose to sign in with them.

We may also share information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our members or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of our business, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.

Other members can see what you choose to share in community features, such as your name, photo, challenge participation, and posts.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

8. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 90 days, except where we must keep certain records longer, for example transaction records for tax and accounting, or information needed to resolve disputes or prevent fraud.

9. How we protect it

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted connections and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and keep it private.

10. Your choices and rights

Wherever you live, you can:

• Access, correct, or export your information.
• Delete your account and personal information, at any time, under Manage account in the app or on our website.
• Withdraw consent you have given, such as for location access.
• Turn off location access and push notifications in your device settings.
• Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email.
• Block analytics cookies in your browser, or use Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.

To make a request, email support@sangatha.io from the address on your account. We may need to verify your identity, and we will respond within the time required by law (usually 30 to 45 days). We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.

11. Additional information for your region

European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland

StretchYo LLC is the controller of your information. We rely on these legal bases: to perform our contract with you (providing your account, chart, and practices); your consent (for birth details used in your chart, check-ins, location, and marketing), which you can withdraw at any time; our legitimate interests (keeping Sangatha safe and improving it); and legal obligations. You may also have the right to object to or restrict processing and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our service providers may process your information in the United States and other countries; where required, we use safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

California and other US states

In the past 12 months we have collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (such as name, email, and IP address); characteristics such as date of birth and gender; commercial information (purchases and subscriptions); health and fitness data you choose to connect (such as step counts); internet activity (usage of our website and app); geolocation (if you allow it); and inferences used to personalize your practices. We use sensitive personal information only to provide the services you request. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. You have the right to know, delete, and correct your information, and to use an authorized agent to make a request. Residents of other US states with privacy laws have similar rights. 12. Children

Sangatha is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us at support@sangatha.io and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Sangatha changes. We will update the date at the top, and if the changes are significant we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
